Learning Activities for non-dancers
In addition to our ongoing educational work with both professional and student dancers, YDP offers learning opportunities in non-dance settings including libraries and secondary schools. These have included historical sessions on our reconstruction of the ballets of Kenneth MacMillan as well as participatory workshops on the theme of bullying with secondary school students.
Currently the company has an on going and highly successful workshop based on bullying. These are offered to secondry schools to students with no or little dance experience. These have be devised with the support of a dance therapist and child psychologist to make sure the workshops are safe and have a positive outcome. These workshops are offered free to schools as they are being supported by funds from our sponsor “Future”.
