Learning

YDP learning is supported by

Tailor made learning opportunities

Yorke Dance Project prides itself on the educational and outreach work we deliver in conjunction with our productions. These can include a wide range of activities designed to not only engage new audiences but work within communities to encourage and develop dance and movement for all ages.

Through classes, workshops, apprenticeships, choreographic residencies and our Professional Pathways programme, participants gain a deeper understanding of dance as an art form as well as insight into our repertoire and YDP’s working methods. Led by our artistic director, head of learning and company members, these learning opportunities include pre-designed as well as tailored made activities.

Each year the company works with secondary schools, youth dance companies, conservatoires, universities, elders’ groups, actors and non-dance organisations including libraries and museums.

Company Class

When the company is in rehearsal, at home and on tour, we offer the opportunity for professional dancers, graduates and those in our learning programmes to join our morning company class which will be Ballet or Cohan technique.

Please contact the rehearsal director, Edd Mitton for more information.
