YDP is happy to announce that we have received a grant from the PRS for Music Foundation in support of the upcoming collaboration between composer Donna Mckevitt and choreographer Charlotte Edmonds.
YDP has commissioned a new work following the inspired connection that Mckevitt and Edmonds forged during this year’s Cohan Collective. Funds from PRS (Performing Rights Society) will support costs for creating Mckevitt’s score for Edmonds’ new dance which will draw inspiration from the work of choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan. This work will be performed alongside YDP’s reconstruction of MacMillan’s 1988 Sea of Troubles, as part of our upcoming touring programme, Inspirit as well as new work by Robert Cohan and Artistic Director Yolande Yorke-Edgell.
Work on the collaboration will begin in early 2016 and preview performances will be held at the Royal Opera House’s Clore Studio in late March.
