
Elly Braund
Elly was born in Cornwall and danced from a young age. At ten, she performed and toured in the cross-generational work Distance Yourself by Angela Praed C.O.D. Dance Company at The Place, London and The Barbican, Plymouth. She moved to London to train at Trinity Laban and went on to dance for the Richard Alston Dance Company for nine years, touring internationally with works by Alston and Martin Lawrance. In 2019, she performed in Night of 100 Solos: A Centennial Event at the Barbican, a significant tribute commemorating the centenary of Merce Cunningham. Elly has collaborated with renowned choreographers including Mark Baldwin, Joseph Toonga, James Pett and Travis Clausen-Knight. She joined the cast of Inala: A Zulu Ballet for its West End premiere and Asia tour, a production choreographed by Mark Baldwin and produced by Sisters Grimm. In addition to her performance career, Elly is a dedicated dance practitioner. She has regularly led company classes for RADC and Protein Dance and conducted workshops for esteemed festivals and institutions such as DAP Festival di Danza Pietra Santa, Tanzfaktur Cologne and the Virginia Arts Festival. Elly has taught contemporary dance at The Royal Ballet School White Lodge, London Contemporary Dance School and teaches Pilates on the Acosta Advanced Training courses. She continues to work with Sir Richard Alston restaging works for Rambert School of Dance, Tring Performing Arts and Trinity Laban.
