Amy was born and trained in Hertfordshire before joining the Royal Ballet Upper School at sixteen. During her training Amy performed and toured with both The Royal and Birmingham Royal Ballet and won the Barbara Fewster Cecchetti scholarship in 2003. Graduating in 2004 Amy joined National Ballet of Ireland where her prominent repertoire included Waltz Girl, Les Sylphides (2006), Tchaikovsky’s variation and pas de deux (2007) and Nutcracker’s Sugar Plum Fairy (2008). New role creations with choreographer Morgann Runacre-Temple include Die Fledermaus (2007) A Picture of Dorian Gray (2008) Romeo and Juliet (2010) and, with Ludovic Ondiviela, Lost (2014). Amy also created works for the NBI’s yearly choreographic platform. Amy first performed with Yorke Dance Project at Glastonbury in 2011, then toured the UK and California with YDP in Across Connections, a collaboration with Pennington Dance Group (2012, 2015 & 2016), WordsWorth (2013), Figure Ground (2014-15) and the Cohan Collective choreographic residency lead by Sir Robert Cohan (2015 & 2016 UK, 2017 USA). In 2016, Amy previewed works at the ROH with YDP including Cohan’s Nymphaes, Self by Charlotte Edmonds, Untethered, by Yolande Yorke-Edgell and Kenneth MacMillan’s Sea of Troubles. Amy created a role in LA choreographer Sophie Stoller’s commission for YDP’s 20th anniversary tour as well as performing with The Royal Opera in Turandot (2017.) During the pandemic Amy participated in a screening of a Cohan masterclass from Sadlers Wells (March 2021) which interspersed her two breaks from performing to start and extend her family in 2019 & 2022. Amy has also worked in TV, music and film projects and guested with Staatstheater Bonn, Germany (2007) and Reach4Dance (2007-2010) She also performed with Dane Hurst in his creation Finding Freedom at Wilton’s Music Hall’s Strike Festival (2014).
